The video below shows Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti attended Remington’s Chinese New Year celebration on Jan 22nd.

At the public hearing on Feb 4th, Mayor Frank Scarpitti talked about the project at length. He demonstrated intimate knowledge of the project. During one of the current residents’ deputations, he was even able to make out the fine print on a homeowner’s purchase agreement on the spot.

The mayor seemed to have a pre-existing relationship with Remington, which demonstrates “conflict of interest” in the matter of the proposed re-zoning plan.
